Petfood Forum recently spoke with Quentin Jensen, quality control and food safety manager at Targeted Pet Treats.Quentin was selected as a First For Forum Ambassador for the 2025 event.

First For Forum offers pet food professionals who have never attended in the past a chance to attend the show at no cost. Ambassadors are selected through a nomination process.

What are you looking forward to the most at Petfood Forum?

Quentin: As someone new to the pet food industry, I’m most looking forward to connecting with experienced professionals and learning about the latest innovations in pet food safety and quality. It’s a great opportunity to gain insights into emerging trends, new technologies and best practices that can enhance food safety protocols that we employ at Targeted Pet Treats. I’m also excited to meet new people in this industry and build potential business relationships.

What are you hoping to accomplish at Petfood Forum?

Quentin: My main goal at Petfood Forum is to expand my knowledge of regulatory standards, food safety and quality standards specific to pet food manufacturing.

Which exhibitors are you looking forward to visiting?

Quentin: I’m looking forward to meeting with many of the labs we utilize for product testing like 3021 Mérieux NutriSciences, and 2533 Midwest Laboratories to put faces to names with people I have been working with over the last year. In addition, I would like to visit booths 2742 Association of American Feed Control Officials and 2642 The Pet Sustainability Coalition to learn about new regulatory updates and to learn about the work being done to make pet food manufacturing more sustainable.

Which educational sessions are you looking forward to?

Quentin: Petfood Essentials: Rethinking pet food packaging and How sustainability shapes the future & Pet food nutrition sessions: Focus on senior pets.

Are you planning to do anything fun while you’re in Kansas City?

Quentin: I have heard throughout my life that the BBQ food is the best in Kansas City and have never had the opportunity to try any of it. So, I’m definitely looking forward to trying out the food there.

About Quentin:

Quentin Jensen is a quality control and food safety manager at the Targeted Pet Treats in Warren, Pennsylvania. He has a decade of experience in manufacturing and quality control. Quentin has primarily worked in human food but transitioned into the pet food industury over the last year and half. He oversees the plant’s product quality, sanitation and its adherence to food safety standards. Quentin’s passion for quality comes from knowing that every product produced directly impacts the well-being of animals. He takes pride in upholding the highest safety and quality standards, from sourcing ingredients to final product testing.
