Jeff Alix is global head of business development, palatability and microbiome in the Pet Business Group under the Taste, Texture and Health Business Unit at dsm-firmenich. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from California State University; plus he attended comprehensive academic courses in food science offered through Nestle. During his 41-year career in the pet food industry, Alix has gained experience across various functional disciplines including pet food ingredients, flavor development and food science followed by sales, business development and marketing. Before joining DSM, he was a research scientist at Nestle and a technical support and product development manager at Bioproducts (acquired by AFB International). For an interim period at DSM, Alix was the pet industry global business head for the DSM-Evonik joint-venture company Veramaris.
