What is the single, most important concept you hope attendees will learn from your presentation?

The major trends affecting the pet industry as a whole, the strength of the industry over time, and the forecasts for our industry to 2030.

Please explain the significance of this concept to the pet food industry and your organization:

Pet food continues to be the single largest product type in the pet industry, so understanding the forces that impact it – including pet owner preferences, shopping behaviors, and changes – is key to industry success.

The APPA sits at the crux of the pet industry for information acquisition and distribution. Elevating the intelligence of the pet industry is key to the APPA’s mission to enable the community to grow and thrive.

What are potential next developments in this specific field?

The APPA is now making the acquisition of intelligence for the pet industry an annual project, via the National Pet Owners Survey, with quarterly release dates, for the pet community.
