Shannon Landry Brown is the pet brand manager for Packaged Facts under the Freedonia Group, a leading authority on the U.S. pet industry and a division of MarketResearch.com. She has been researching the pet market for over a decade, covering a range of topics including pet food and treats and non-food supplies, with a focus on the U.S. market. Brown was the analyst and author of Packaged Facts’ most recent “Pet Food in the U.S.” report (2023), providing insight into pet food sales trends, consumer purchase patterns and pet owner sentiments and influences. Prior to Packaged Facts, she taught business communication at Tulane University and the University of New Orleans.

As director of product development, Adam Craig is responsible for leading the integration of sustainability into the design of products at Hill’s Pet Nutrition. He has a master’s degree in animal nutrition from the University of Guelph in Canada and joined Hill’s upon graduating in 2004. Over his 20 years with Hill’s, he has gained cross-functional experience through positions within various regional and global marketing teams and product development roles.

Elizabeth Maier spent two decades growing her family’s sixth-generation animal nutrition business, he F.L. Emmert Co., before it was acquired by Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition in 2022. For Wilbur-Ellis, Maier leads growth and innovation for the Nutrition division. She enjoys facilitating growth through strategic marketing, business development and creative solutions to big-picture challenges like sustainability. Maier has served as a member of the American Feed Industry Association board of directors, serves on several community boards and was elected to public office as a school board member from 2017 to 2021.

Brian Steinwagner’s passion for packaging and new innovations has led to increasingly elevated positions over his 30-year packaging career, including sales, sales management, general manager and, currently, executive vice president, business development, Morris Packaging, where sustainability is a key focus. At Morris, he focuses on new applications and solutions for current and new customers; his complete knowledge of the entire packaging life cycle brings a unique view for innovation and problem solving. Steinwagner’s broad experience in film development through printing, laminating and converting brings solutions and leading-edge technology to our brand partners.

Stephie Volo’s career in the pet industry began more than 20 years ago as the leader of Planet Dog. In 2017, she became chief marketing officer for Earth Animal , a purpose-driven, holistic health and wellness pet products company where she was responsible for strategic planning, overall management and implementation, working with the sales and marketing teams, cross-functional partners and external resources to assure successful execution of marketing activation, communication and brand plans to support the company’s sales and financial objectives for all lines of business and each channel. After leading Earth Animal successfully to becoming a Certified B Corporation at the end of 2022, Volo became chief impact officer, responsible for the development, management and evaluation of Earth Animal’s global social and environmental impact strategy. This includes developing the framework and leading the company’s global sustainability strategy, conceptualizing and creating the vision to drive and amplify its corporate sustainability efforts and the roadmaps for implementing and executing on these initiatives. Volo is a founding member and currently the vice chair of the Pet Sustainability Coalition.
