Petfood Forum recently spoke with Emily Rice, product specialist, technical applications group, Nestlé Purina Petcare Company. Emily was selected as a First For Forum Ambassador for the 2024 event.
First For Forum is an initiative that offers pet food professionals who have never attended in the past a chance to attend the show at no cost. Through a nomination process, the First For Forum program received over 100 submissions.
We are pleased to welcome Emily to Petfood Forum on April 29-May 1, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri.
What are you looking forward to the most at Petfood Forum?
Emily: I am looking forward to seeing the different research going on across the industry.
What are you hoping to accomplish at Petfood Forum?
Emily: While at Petfood Forum I hope to network with many of our current vendors and use some of the my learnings to continue to develop new ideas.
Which exhibitors are you looking forward to visiting?
Emily: Many of the exhibitors are current vendors that I communicate with regularly so it will be nice to put a face to a name.
Which educational sessions are you looking forward to?
Emily: I am really looking forward to attending the Petfood Essentials and with my background in microbiome I am also looking forward to Longevity, live long and prosper, the fountain of youth and the microbiome — Juan Gomez-Basauri, Ph.D.
Are you planning to do anything fun while you’re in Kansas City?
Emily: I always enjoy going to Kansas City because the Barbeque cannot be beat!
Please tell us about yourself:
I am a product specialist in the technical applications group at Nestlé Purina Petcare Company. With my schooling and background being mainly rooted in meat science, coming to the pet food industry two years ago was a welcomed change. I currently work in our treats category creating and scaling up new products into our factories. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my dog, Lucy, and my horse, Ollie.
