Presentation Description:

Pet food product claims that matter: 2019 pet parent survey results – Lisa Demme, FONA International’s marketing director, and Kathleen Crossman, FONA International’s vice president of regulatory, share and interpret the results of their 2019 proprietary nationwide survey of pet parents across generations. From baby boomers to Generation Z, let’s explore the label claims and product attributes that consumers will be looking for in pet food, treats and supplements. It’s time to ask: What does this changing consumer landscape mean for the pet food, treats and supplement market? What claims are driving purchase intent with today’s consumer?

Demme has over 30 years in the food and flavor industry and is an expert at interpreting the voice of the consumer. As director of marketing for FONA International, Demme has spent the past six years dedicated to pet care and deciphering what today’s pet parent is searching for in the market. She regularly presents to the pet industry on trends like humanization, ancestral diets and functional treats. Demme currently serves on the board of the Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network where she is an integral part of leading and coordinating key networking events for industry leaders in the Chicago area. She is also a regular speaker at FONA International’s industry-leading Flavor University, including Pet Flavor 201. Before joining FONA in 2012, Demme served as director of customer engagement, communication and training for Sara Lee Foodservice. Prior to that, she held roles in operations management and business development for Unilever and ConAgra Foods, respectively.
