Experience:

Bookout is president, board chairman and a founding member of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC), and a leading voice for the animal supplement industry. He has been selected by Health Canada to serve on the Expert Advisory Committee for Veterinary Natural Health Products and has testified before the FDA on behalf of the animal supplement industry. Bookout was formerly president of Genesis Limited, a company he founded in 1999, which provides feed and health products for companion animals. In March 2012, Genesis was acquired by Kemin Industries Inc., and Bookout briefly left NASC to serve as vice president of global sales at Kemin. He resumed his role as NASC in 2014. Prior to founding Genesis, he spent 15 years as an executive in the human medical device and animal health industries, including positions with Medex Medical, the All-Care Animal Referral Center (a specialty referral veterinary hospital), AnaMed International, and MarQuest Medical Products. Bookout received a bachelor’s degree in physical sciences from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree from the Pepperdine University Presidents and Key Executives MBA program.
