2017 agenda featured research on functional ingredients

On June 13 2017, Europe’s most exclusive pet food conference took place as part of FVG Select 2017 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. The agenda for Petfood Forum Europe 2017 included presentations featuring the newest research on functional ingredients in pet food. These sessions included information on pet food ingredients with prebiotics to address pet obesity, antioxidants to combat cognitive decline in older dogs and eggshell membrane to treat canine hip dysplasia. There was also an ingredient-related sessions covering protein and trace minerals in pet foods, as well as pet owners’ nutritional knowledge of pet foods.

In addition to information on functional ingredients, top pet food industry experts shared insights on the global and European pet food markets, new product development in freeze-dried pet foods, processing flexibility to meet new pet food trends and increasing pet food process energy efficiency by implementing dryer automation. FVG Select included a number of other industry-specific conferences besides Petfood Forum Europe, such as FIAAP Animal Nutrition Conference. Throughout FVG Select, there was exclusive matchmaking opportunities with colleagues and clients from throughout these important industry sectors. There was also be a small industry expo for a select group of companies. The matchmaking program featured an online tool that allowed participants to plan appointments efficiently and focus on the meetings during FVG Select 2017.
