Experience:

Blurton has over 30 years’ experience in the pet industry in Europe and North America. He graduated with an engineering degree from Manchester University in the UK and joined Mars Inc., working with pet food brands such as Pedigree, Whiskers, Royal Canin and Nutro. Blurton began his varied career in production management and developed into roles including industrial engineering, finance and corporate development (M&A). He moved to the US 15 years ago to lead several Mars Petcare businesses and was CEO of Royal Canin Veterinary Diets and Mars Fishcare. Subsequently, Blurton spent several years consulting, providing strategic advisory and hands-on CEO support to companies and potential investors in the pet sector. He was instrumental in the private equity-backed acquisition of Hyper Pet, which develops and market treats and hard goods for cats and dogs, and became CEO two years ago. Since then he has overseen several acquisitions, revamped the sales and branding strategy and significantly strengthened his management team.
