Presentation Description:

Effect of vitamin supplementation on longevity and health of Beagles. Pet food industry vitamin supplementation continues to increase, especially with vitamins related to health and disease prevention. This stems partially from the influence of human food trends but also because vitamin retention through extrusion continues to decline due to higher conditioner retention time and temperature. A recently released cohort study of 2,000 privately owned Beagles over 15 years evaluated the effect of vitamin supplementation on their longevity and health. Longevity linearly increased, while annual veterinary visits linearly decreased.
